Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for using WAB2C and the WhatsApp Business Platform responsibly and lawfully.

Last updated: 25 June 2026

Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all customers and users of WAB2C. It works alongside our Terms of Service, Messaging Compliance guidance, and the WhatsApp Business Messaging and Commerce Policies.

Permitted Use

You may use WAB2C to:

  • Message customers who have opted in to hear from your business
  • Send order, account, and appointment updates using approved templates
  • Provide customer support and route conversations to your team
  • Automate replies, qualify leads, and sync data to CRM or Google Sheets

Prohibited Activities

You must not use WAB2C or WhatsApp to:

  • Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or message non-consenting contacts
  • Upload purchased, scraped, or otherwise non-consented contact lists
  • Send fraudulent, misleading, phishing, or scam content
  • Distribute malware or attempt to compromise systems
  • Sell or promote prohibited goods under the WhatsApp Commerce Policy
  • Share hateful, harassing, illegal, adult, or harmful content
  • Impersonate WAB2C, Meta, WhatsApp, or any other person or business
  • Evade opt-out requests or messaging limits

Regulated Industries

Some industries — including healthcare, financial services, and other regulated or restricted categories — may require additional eligibility review and may not be supported depending on WhatsApp policy, local law, provider approval, and the specific use case. Certain prohibited categories cannot be supported at all.

Enforcement

Violations may result in warnings, feature restrictions, suspension, or termination of your account. We may also be required to act on enforcement decisions made by Meta/WhatsApp or provider channels, which are outside WAB2C's control.
